We have supported over 7,000 residents into jobs or training since 2016, including 1,052 young people. We have created more than 1,000 apprenticeship opportunities and 700 Kickstart placements.
We are determined to take a leadership approach and be at the forefront of addressing race inequality. So we are investing an additional £1.5m on further projects to tackle racial inequalities and deliver change here in Tower Hamlets
We have supported high quality schools, expanded special needs provision, protected free school meals and transformed our children's social care services.
We have kept all our libraries and Idea Stores open, refurbished Tiller Leisure Centre and invested £10m in improvements to our parks and play spaces.
We have introduced a landlord licesning scheme, clamped down on rogue landlords and adopted a tenants charter to support those in the private rented sector.
We have worked in partnership to deliver nearly 7,000 affordable homes in the borough since 2015, the largest in London. As a council we have delivered over 1,000 new council homes, with a plan for a further 1,000.
We have planted 1,000 street trees, introduced 50 school streets, converted 98% of our lighting to more efficient LED and installed 150 electric vehicle charging points to help make our borough greener.
To help make our borough fairer and to tackle poverty, we have protected free school meals, invested in our tackling poverty fund, supported residents with council tax discounts as well as promoting and supporting digital inclusion.
