The proposed development at Westferry
The proposed development at Westferry

The new scheme overrules the wishes of local residents, of Tower Hamlets Council’s Planning Committee, of the current Mayor of London and of the Government’s own Planning Inspector.

It will be a massive development in a part of the Island where most buildings are 4 floors or less.

The decision was also taken in a way that meant that £40 million of ‘Community Infrastructure
Levy’ for the people of Tower Hamlets went to the developer instead.
